Present throughout French territory, the Prim’Holstein is the leading French breed in terms of numbers.
A large, specialized dairy breed, it boasts a very high milk production potential.
In 2014: average production: 9,300 kg of milk in 355 days; BF: 39.1 g/l; Protein: 31.9 g/l.
Its high feed intake capacity allows it to make excellent use of forage.
The excellent genetic potential of bulls, resulting from French selection programs, places them among the best in the official Interbull international ranking each year.
Young animals not intended for milk production also offer good performance for the production of beef calves, weaned calves, and young cattle, particularly when crossbred with a beef breed bull.
