Young Bulls

These are young intact males intended for slaughter after a finishing phase in a fattening unit. Their age ranges from 15 to 18 months (24 months maximum).

Young cattle of beef breeds (Charolaise, Limousine, Blonde d’Aquitaine, Aubrac, Gasconne, and Salers) are marketed at a live weight ranging from approximately 600 to 750 kg.

Young cattle of dairy breeds (Prim’Holstein and Montbéliarde) are marketed at a live weight ranging from approximately 550 to 650 kg.

Heifers

These are young females intended for slaughter after a finishing phase in a fattening unit. Their age ranges from 18 to 24 months.

Generally from beef breeds (Charolaise, Limousine, and Blonde d’Aquitaine), they are marketed at a live weight between 500 and 600 kg.
